The Postal Altneuhaus is an Outbound Spur castle on a rocky plateau at 471 m above sea level. NN in the Falkenberg forest above the Waldnaab valley at the market Falkenberg in the Upper Palatinate district of Tirschenreuth in Bavaria .
The castle, with Schwarzenschwall Castle, is a side castle of Falkenberg Castle , was built in the 13th century by the Lords of Falkenberg. In 1274 she came to the Lords of Leuchtenberg by marriage . Twenty years later in 1294 the castle was sold to the Waldsassen monastery . It was abandoned around 1400 and then fell into disrepair.
Remnants of moats from the outer and main castle can still be seen from the former castle complex. Excavation finds are in the local history museum in Neuhaus .
