The Burgstall Steinbühl is located on the northwestern edge of the village of Thumsenreuth in the Upper Palatinate municipality of Krummennaab in the Tirschenreuth district (Thumsenreuth house no. 1).
history
The castle is first mentioned in 1366/1367, at that time Ulrich Kleisentaler von Dietreichsdorf and Seidel had his cousin ... tenth to ... Steinpühel . In 1573 Steinbühl was designated as the free property of the Trautenberg family in Reuth. In 1574 a Hans Pirkner resides here. In the tax book of 1588 several owners are named here: Wolff Christoff von Trautenberg , Hans Heinrich Nothaft von Wernberg and Hans Wild von Wildenreuth . 1636 is Steinbühel as to Burghut of Parkstein called properly. Before 1660, the estate was transferred to Sauerzapf zu Birngrub .
description
There is still a 3 to 4 m high pyramidal mound of earth. Its base is about 25 × 25 m and the upper castle square 15 × 15 m. There is a hint of a moat in the west. Remnants of the wall were found in 1926 while a water tank was being built on the upper platform.
