The Burgstall Rosall is located in the Rosall district of the Upper Palatinate town of Tirschenreuth in the Tirschenreuth district . The castle stables can be addressed as a moth , which probably comes from the 12th century from the early days of the settlement of the regio egere .
history
The place Rosel is mentioned in the Salbuch of the Waldsassen monastery at the end of the 14th century . It is unknown who built the local castle. However, due to previous ownership, it must have been a Diepolding or Hohenstaufen ministerial . In the documents of the Waldsassen monastery , a Burgleyn is mentioned in 1434 and a Bürglein in 1593 . After the monastery bought the place, the castle was abandoned and fell into disrepair.
The Burgstall was discovered in 1986. It is located 60 m above the village of Rosall on a spur rising to the east. A path from Rosall leads to the castle stables after 600 m. To the north of the path, the group of rocks can be seen with a semicircular ditch in the south. The tower hill measures 15 × 17 m and is about 2 m higher than the spur to the south. In the north it is bordered by a 5 m high rock wall.
