Siegritz tower castle

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The defunct Turmburg Siegritz was located in the Wetzldorf district of the Upper Palatinate town of Erbendorf in the Tirschenreuth district .

history

The tower was probably built by the Pfreimdern in the 13th or 14th century. The tower north of Siegritz Castle can be seen on the map by Christoph Vogel from 1600 . It is represented with a door on the ground floor, two upper floors with windows and a gable roof .

This tower castle belongs to Siegritz Castle and shares the history of the owner with it. The oldest mention refers to the Leuchtenberger Lehenbuch , where it says, Item das dorff zum Sighartz and the sycz there . The plural form indicates that there was another seat next to the castle. This is confirmed by an entry in the land register of Johann Paul Weikmann from 1637, in which there was talk of a tower a Pfreimbder next to his brother, who lived in the castle .

Nothing has survived from the tower (previously located in the Hessengarten corridor) due to the land consolidation and the growth of the village.
