The writings from the Karl Marx House published between 1969 and 2004. They were one appearing at irregular intervals Series of Karl-Marx-Haus , dedicated to Karl Marx employed, in particular to the 1848th In addition, some overviews of the distribution of Marx's writings in China, Russia, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands were published. The authors were mostly internationally recognized researchers in the field of Marx-Engels research and edition. Issues 1 to 37 were not sold in bookshops.

Under the direction of Hans Pelger , the writings from the Karl-Marx-Haus were intended as a social-democratic contribution to Marx-Engels research, initially in contrast to the publications from the GDR . A cooperation with the Marx-Engels Complete Edition developed later , which in 1989 finally led to the formation of the International Marx-Engels Foundation. In 2004, the job of Hans Pelger was canceled and only the museum operation of the Karl Marx House in Trier was maintained. The research library and the collected originals by Marx and Engels (photos, books, manuscripts) were outsourced to the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung .
