Scotch Cup 1959

The 1959 Scotch Cup was the 1st edition of the curling tournament and was held from March 9th to 11th of that year in the Scottish cities of Edinburgh , Perth and Falkirk . The cup competition today has the status of the men's curling world championship .

The Scotch Cup was played in a series of five games between the teams from Scotland and Canada . The games were scheduled for twelve ends , but the fifth game was cut to ten ends.

Canada won the cup 5-0.
