The Curling World Championship for Men 1998 (official: Ford World Men's Curling Championship in 1998 ) was the 40th staging (including Scotch Cup ) World Championships in curling of Lords. It was held from April 4 to 12 of that year in the Canadian city of Kamloops , British Columbia at the Riverside Coliseum .
The World Curling Championships the men was in a round-robin tournament ( round-robin ) between the teams from Scotland , Canada , the United States , Germany , Sweden , Australia , the Switzerland , Denmark , Norway and Finland played out.
The games were scheduled for ten ends .
Host Canada won its 25th world championship title at the 40th men's curling world championship. The final against Sweden ended with a 7-4 victory for the North Americans after 10 ends.
Finland was able to beat Scotland 6: 5 in the bronze medal and celebrate the first medal at a World Cup.
