The Curling World Championship for Men 1996 (official: Ford World Men's Curling Championship in 1996 ) was the 38th staging (including Scotch Cup ) World Championships in curling of Lords. It was held from March 23 to 31 of that year in the Canadian city of Hamilton , Ontario , at the Copps Coliseum .
The World Curling Championships the men was in a round-robin tournament ( round-robin ) between the teams from Scotland , Canada , the United States , Germany , Sweden , Australia , the Switzerland , England , Norway and Italy played out.
The games were scheduled for ten ends .
For the fifth time in the last seven years, the final opponents were Canada and Scotland. The host Canadians were able to win their 24th world title in the final with 6: 2 stones after nine ends. In the game for the bronze medal, the Swiss were successful with a 9: 6 against Norway.
