The Curling World Championship for Men 2000 (official: Ford World Men's Curling Championship 2000 ) was the 42nd staging (including Scotch Cup ) World Championships in curling of Lords. It was held from April 1st to 9th of that year in the Scottish city of Glasgow . The games themselves took place in the Braehead Arena in Renfrewshire , about 20 kilometers south of Glasgow .
The World Curling Championships the men was in a round-robin tournament ( round-robin ) between the teams from Scotland , Canada , the United States , France , Sweden , the Switzerland , Denmark , Norway , Finland and newcomer Japan played.
The games were scheduled for ten ends .
Record world champions Canada and Swedes played the final. In nine ends the Canadians won with 9: 4 stones, which meant the 26th world title for the maple leaves .
Finland also defeated the United States 9-4 in the bronze medal game.
