The World Curling Championships the men in 1988 (officially: Hexagon World Men's Curling Championship in 1988 ) was the 30th staging (including Scotch Cup ) World Championships in curling of Lords. It was held from April 11th to 17th of that year in the Swiss city of Lausanne , Canton of Vaud , in the Icehalle .
The World Curling Championships the men was in a round-robin tournament ( round-robin ) between the teams from Scotland , Canada , the United States , the Federal Republic of Germany , Sweden , Norway , the Switzerland , Denmark , France and newcomer Finland played.
The games were scheduled for ten ends .
Norway and Canada were in the final of the 30th Men's World Cup. The Norwegians prevailed against the North Americans with 5: 4 stones. For the Scandinavians it was the third men's world title. In the game for the bronze medal, the hosts lost out against the Scots with 4: 3 stones.
