Seemann is a song by the German new German hardship band Rammstein . It is the second single from their debut album Herzeleid . It was released on January 8, 1996 and was produced by Jacob Hellner and Carl-Michael Herlöfsson. The song is the band's first ballad . It is best known for its unusual live performance, in which the keyboardist Flake is usually carried in a rubber dinghy on the crowd in front of the stage.

background

As you smell so good too , Seemann belonged to a demo for the competition of the Berlin Senate in February 1994, at that time under the title Come in my boat . The first known live performance took place on New Year's Eve 1994 in Saalfeld . It was then played continuously on the tour for the album Herzeleid . The live performance was established in which Flake is carried by the spectators sitting in the rubber dinghy, often far out to the mixer and back to the stage. This show was later performed in the song Haifisch . After the song was not performed for a long time (since 1999), it returned to the setlist for some time on the tour for the album Liebe ist für alle da .

Music video

The music video filmed in December 1995 in Hamburg under the direction of Lazlo Kadar shows the band members Schneider, Riedel, Landers and Kruspe pulling a boat through the sand in which Till Lindemann and Flake are standing. In between, a prostitute (Anne Minnemann) is shown. Later you see Lindemann being fetched from the keel . The boat goes up in flames. The video premiere was on January 8, 1996.
