Seal of Mali (1961-1982) .svg

The Mali seal was incorporated into law on October 20, 1973 , but had been in use since 1961. In 1982 the color was changed.

The country's motto - in French Un peuple, un but, une foi , 'One people, one goal, one belief' - is prescribed in Article 25 of the constitution and is written in black capitals in a semicircle in the lower half along the edge of the coat of arms . The words Republique du Mali ("Republic of Mali") close the circle in the upper half.

The state seal of Mali is circular with a light blue background. In the center of the coat of arms there is a picture of the Great Mosque of Djenné in white color above which - also in white - a vulture (also described as a dove ) hovers looking to the left. The rising sun is indicated in gold below the mosque . Left and right of it there is a white bow with an arrow.
