description
The national coat of arms of Lesotho is a brown Basotho shield, covered with a blue crocodile and backed by two crossing brown weapons, a slanting spear and a slanting left traditional battle club. The shield is held by two brown, tree-lined horses. The shield and the shield holder are based on a green dome, which is crossed by a blue stripe at the top and sprinkled with brown pebbles in the middle.
The words “KHOTSO PULA NALA” are written in white on the brown- silver ribbon at the very bottom . The motto in Sesotho means "peace, rain, prosperity".
The shield is the symbol of the dynasty and the most important tribe of Lesotho, the summit that of the "national mountain " Thaba Bosiu .
