The current coat of arms of the Democratic Republic of the Congo was introduced in 2006.

description

The coat of arms shows a floating leopard head in natural colors, accompanied on the right by a silver elephant tusk and on the left by a black spear .

The French motto is written on a golden red ribbon underneath

" Justice, Paix, Travail "
( Justice, peace, work )

The foundation is a pale purple stone.

symbolism

Leopard head, spear and arrow, palm branch and tusk symbolize the land and its inhabitants, its flora and fauna as well as the mineral resources.

history

The coat of arms of the DR Congo from 2003 shows three black entwined hands, framed by a wreath of ears. A black lion head rests on the coat of arms, under the coat of arms is the French motto:

" Démocratie, Justice, Unité "
