The 1992/93 season was the second staging of the Slovenian ice hockey league after Slovenia declared independence from Yugoslavia . It was played with six teams. The defending champion and also the new champion was HK Jesenice .
Participant field and mode
The field of participants shrank from eight to six teams compared to the previous season, as HK Jesenice and HDD Olimpija Ljubljana each decided not to compete with a second team. However, HK Jesenice played with a weaker selection, as the team was the only Slovenian participant to take part in the Alpine League at the same time (see Alpine League 1992/93 ).
Initially, a double round-trip round was played in the regular season with a total of twenty games per team. The best four teams qualified for the intermediate round, in which the placements for the playoffs were then determined. The semi-final series were in the mode Best of Five discharged, the final in the mode Best of Seven . The remaining four teams determined the final placements in a simple round-trip round (six matches).
Basic round
Since the best players of HK Jesenice played in the Alpine League, HDD Ljubljana dominated the regular season at will and lost only in two of the twenty games. Only HK Bled was a serious competitor and in the end was only two points behind the leaders. The season was once again disappointing for HK Slavija, who, like last year, lost all games and thus still had no win (and no draw) after two years. Jesenice only just qualified with fourth place, but with an eight point lead, still easily qualified for the second round.

Favorite Ljubljana lost only one of the six games and remained in first place. The bonus points from the basic round are given in brackets.
