Stanislav Stolárik (born February 27, 1955 in Rožňava , Czechoslovakia ) is a Slovak clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Rožňava .

Life

Stanislav Stolárik grew up in Košice and attended the local grammar school . He entered the seminary in Bratislava in 1973 and studied Catholic theology and philosophy at the Roman Catholic Theological Cyril and Methodius Faculty of the Comenius University in Bratislava . Stolárik received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Košice on June 11, 1978 in the Cathedral of St. Martin in Bratislava .

In 1978, Stolárik became vicar in Trebišov . From 1978 to 1981 he was vicar in Humenné and from 1981 to 1983 in Prešov . In 1983 Stanislav Stolárik became the parish administrator of the Marian Shrine in Obišovce . In 1990 he became the parish administrator of the Čaňa parish and a member of the Priestly Council of the Košice Diocese and a member of the College of Consultors . From 1992 to 1995 Stanislav Stolárik was pastor of the parish Humenné. In 1993 he was Cyril and Methodius Catholic Faculty of Theology of the Roman at Comenius University for doctor of theology doctorate . Stanislav Stolárik received his doctorate in philosophy from the Pontifical Academy of Theology in Cracow in 1998 and a second doctorate in philosophy ( Ph.D. ) from the Philosophical Faculty of the Comenius University in Bratislava . At the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Prešov in 1999 the habilitation in the history of philosophy took place . In 2000 Stanislav Stolárik became Professor of History of Philosophy, Introduction to Philosophy and Religious Philosophy at the Catholic University of Ružomberok and at the Greek Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Prešov. In 2001 Stolárik was also pastor of the parish of St. Nicholas in Prešov and dean of the Prešov deanery . From 2001 to 2003 he was Deputy Dean of the Roman Catholic Theological Cyril and Methodius Faculty of the Comenius University in Bratislava. Pope John Paul II awarded him the honorary title of chaplain of His Holiness ( Monsignor ) on February 8, 2003 .

On February 26, 2004, John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Barica and appointed him auxiliary bishop in Košice. The Archbishop of Košice, Alojz Tkáč , donated him episcopal ordination on March 20 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio in Slovakia , Archbishop Henryk Józef Nowacki , and the President of the Pontifical Committee for World Eucharistic Congresses , Cardinal Jozef Tomko . Stanislav Stolárik was also vicar general of the Archdiocese of Košice.

Stolárik is co-editor of Acta facultatis theologicae Universitatis Comonianae Bratislaviensis and Verba theologica .

On March 21, 2015, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Rožňava. The inauguration took place on May 16 of the same year.
