Stankowo ( German Probeberg ) is a village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the Gmina Dźwierzuty (rural community Mensguth ) in the Powiat Szczycieński ( Ortelsburg district ).
Geographical location
Stankowo is located in the southern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , eleven kilometers north of the district town of Szczytno ( Ortelsburg in German ).
history
The place called Probark before 1830 consisted of several large and small courtyards and until 1945 was a residential area within the municipality of Olschöwken (1938 to 1945 Kornau (Ostpr.) , Polish Olszewki ) in the East Prussian district of Ortelsburg . As part of the separation (1840), extensive wasteland areas were developed in the Olschöwken district, including a. 19 development yards, including Probeberg in 1827 .
With all of southern East Prussia , Probeberg came to Poland in 1945 as a result of the war and was given the Polish form of the name “Stankowo”. Today the village is the seat of a Schulzenamt (Polish Sołectwo ) and thus a place in the network of the rural community Dźwierzuty (Mensguth) in the powiat Szczycieński ( Ortelsburg district ), until 1998 the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then part of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .
church
Until 1945, Probeberg was parish in the Protestant church Theerwisch ( Polish : Targowo ) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic church of Mensguth Dorf in the then diocese of Warmia . Today Stankowo belongs to the Dźwierzuty Catholic Church in the current Archdiocese of Warmia and to the Dźwierzuty Evangelical Church , now a subsidiary church of the Pasym parish (Passenheim) in the Masurian Diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .
traffic
From Landesstraße 57 (formerly German Reichsstraße 128 ) north of Linowo (Leynau , 1938 to 1945 Leinau) a side street leads directly to Stankowo. A road also leads from Olszewki (Olschöwken , 1938 to 1945 Kornau (Ostpr.)) Into town. There is no connection to rail traffic .
