German language street

The road of the German language is a 1,300-km-long route in Saxony , Saxony-Anhalt , Thuringia and northern Bavaria . It leads through places that are and were particularly important for the German language and provides information on the history of the German language at 24 stations . It is run by the “Street of the German Language” working group of the New Fruit Bringing Society .

In 2007 the association Neue Fruchtbringende Gesellschaft set up the “House of the German Language” in Köthen (Anhalt) to celebrate its 390th anniversary . In 2011 the street of the German language was opened. She was able to win 23 more partners. In April 2013, the “German Language Experience” will be set up in Köthen Castle .

The stations are in significant places for the German language. It runs as a ring around Leipzig, Magdeburg, Dresden and Nuremberg.
