Suso , real name Jesús Joaquín Fernández Sáez de la Torre (born November 19, 1993 in Cádiz ), is a Spanish football player . The offensive player is currently under contract with Sevilla FC and is a Spanish national player.

Career

In the club

Suso began his career in his hometown with Cádiz FC , from where he moved to Liverpool FC in the summer of 2010. On September 23, 2012 he came there for his first appearance in the Premier League when he was substituted on for the game against Manchester United . On October 19, 2012, he signed a new contract that ties him to Liverpool FC until 2017.

For the 2013/14 season he was loaned to UD Almería for a year . There he was used in 33 of 38 league games, mostly in the starting line-up and scored three goals.

For the 2014/15 season returned Suso back to Liverpool. He came there but only in September 2014 for a use in the League Cup against FC Middlesbrough .

On January 17, 2015, Suso moved to the Italian Serie A at AC Milan . He received a contract until June 30, 2019. After Suso was initially unable to assert himself in Milan and only made six league appearances, he switched to CFC Genoa on January 4, 2016 on loan .

After his return to Milan, Suso developed into a regular player and won the national Supercup in December 2016 with the club for which he was also on the field in the European Cup . His contract was then extended to June 2022. The attacking player delivered his best performance for Milan in 2017/18 when he scored 19 points.

After completing 153 compulsory games (24 goals, 31 assists) in five years, the Spaniard returned to his home country at the end of January 2020, where he signed a contract with the first division club Sevilla FC until June 2021. In its first season, Sevilla FC won the UEFA Europa League with a 3-2 win in the final against Inter Milan .

National team

Suso took part in the European Championship 2012 with the Spanish U19 national team, where he won the title with her. He made his first appearance in the Spanish U21 national team on November 13, 2012 when he came on as a substitute for the game against Italy .

In November 2017, the attacker played for the first time for the Spanish A selection in a friendly against Russia . Two years later, he and the team qualified for the European Championship 2020, unbeaten .
