Suzanne Crouch (born February 27, 1952 in Evansville , Indiana ) is an American politician . In November 2016, she was elected Lieutenant Governor of the state of Indiana.

Career

Suzanne Crouch graduated from Mater Dei High School in Evansville, then studied accounting at the University of Southern Indiana and then political science at Purdue University . She later worked as a real estate and stock broker, among other things. She also ran a small business.

Politically, she joined the Republican Party . In 1994 she became a district auditor in Vanderburgh County . Between 2002 and 2005 she was a member of the local Board of Commissioners and from 2005 to 2013 she was a member of the Indiana House of Representatives . In 2014, she assumed the position of State Auditor for Indiana. In November 2016, she was elected lieutenant governor of her state by the electorate alongside Eric Holcomb , who became the new governor of Indiana. She will officially take up her new office on January 9, 2017. Then she will be Deputy Governor and Chair of the State Senate . Your election was favored by the nomination of the previous Governor Mike Pence as running mate of Donald Trump . As a result, Pence could no longer run for the office of governor. His lieutenant governor Holcomb successfully applied for this post and Crouch was able to pursue the vacant position of lieutenant governor. She took up her new office on January 9, 2017.

Suzanne Crouch is married. She has a child with her husband Larry.
