Crawford F. Parker

Crawford Fairbanks Parker (born September 20, 1906 in Danville , Indiana , †  February 15, 1986 in Fort Lauderdale , Florida ) was an American politician . Between 1957 and 1961 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Indiana.

Career

Nothing is known of Crawford Parker's youth and schooling. There is also no information in the sources about his career outside of politics. He joined the Republican Party and served as Secretary of State from 1952 to 1956, the executive officer of the Indiana state government.

In 1956 Parker was elected Lieutenant Governor of Indiana alongside Harold Handley . He held this office between January 14, 1957 and January 9, 1961. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . In 1960 he was narrowly defeated by the Democrat Matthew E. Welsh in the gubernatorial elections . After that, he no longer appeared politically. He died on February 15, 1986 in Fort Lauderdale.
