Thomas Hanna

Thomas Hanna (* 1841 in Avoca , Lawrence County , Indiana ; †  April 13, 1901 in Indianapolis , Indiana) was an American politician . Between 1881 and 1885 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Indiana.

Career

Nothing is known about Thomas Hanna's youth and school education. After studying law, he was admitted to the bar. Politically, he became a member of the Republican Party .

In 1880, Hanna was elected Lieutenant Governor of Indiana alongside Albert Porter . He held this office between 1881 and 1885. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . After the end of his time as lieutenant governor, he opened a law firm. He worked legally until his death. He served as a federal attorney for the Court of Claims for two years . After that he was again a private lawyer. He died on April 13, 1901 in Indianapolis.
