Sven Lodziewski (born March 17, 1965 in Leipzig ) is the head association doctor of the German swimming team and a former German swimmer .

Lodziewski, whose home club was SC Dynamo Berlin , was European champion over 100 meters freestyle at the 1987 European Championships. At the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul , he won the silver medal in the GDR's 4 × 200-meter freestyle relay together with Uwe Daßler , Thomas Flemming and Steffen Zesner . At the 1986 World Cup he had already won the title with the GDR relay over 4 × 200 meters freestyle, over 200 meters freestyle he took second place behind Michael Groß in these competitions . At the 1982 World Swimming Championships in Guayaquil he was runner-up in the 400 meter freestyle world championship.

For his sporting successes in the GDR in 1984 and 1988 he was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit and in 1986 the Star of Friendship of Nations .

At the 2001 World Swimming Championships he made a comeback when he won the bronze medal in the 4 × 100 meter freestyle together with Stefan Herbst , Torsten Spanneberg and Lars Conrad .

After his career as a swimmer, Lodziewski became a doctor. Since November 2008 he has been the head association doctor in the German Swimming Association . In Dirk Lange 's DSV competence team, he looked after the German swimming team at the 2009 World Swimming Championships in Rome, at the 2010 European Swimming Championships in Budapest and at the 2011 World Swimming Championships in Shanghai. After Dirk Lange left the DSV competence team, he remained the head association doctor and looked after the German swimming team at the European Swimming Championships in Budapest in 2012 and at the 2012 Olympic Games .
