Talowaja ( Russian Та́ловая ) is an urban-type settlement in the Voronezh Oblast ( Russia ) with 12,219 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The settlement is situated 120 km south-east of Oblastverwaltungszentrums Voronezh on the river Sukhaia Tschigla that just over 10 kilometers to the west in the Bityug River creek Tschigla .
Talowaja is the administrative center of the Rajons Talowski and seat and only town of the municipality Rabotchi possjolok Talowaja.
history
The place was founded in 1892 in connection with the construction of the Waluiki - Balaschow railway line opened in 1895 . In 1928 it became the administrative seat of a Rajon, and in 1957 it received urban-type settlement status.

Talowaja is located at kilometer 262 of the Waluiki - Balaschow - Penza railway line that was electrified between 1965 and 1967 . A 94 km long branch line, opened in 1896, branches off to the south via Buturlinowka to Kalatsch . The regional roads 20K-W2-0 from the trunk road R298 near Anna to Buturlinowka and 20K-W7-0 from the M4 Don near Bobrov to Novochopjorsk cross near the settlement .
