Tamires Cássia Dias Gomes , mostly just Tamires or in Denmark Tamires de Britto , (born October 10, 1987 in Caeté ) is a Brazilian soccer player .

Career

Tamires started her career in the youth of CA Juventus in São Paulo . At the age of eighteen she switched to Santos FC with whom she won the second and final edition of the Liga Nacional de Futebol Feminino in 2006 and the 2007 São Paulo state championship. In 2008 she played for one year in the North American USL W-League for the Charlotte Lady Eagles . She then moved to Ferroviária , but interrupted her career here for a long time. In 2011 she was hired by Atlético Mineiro in her home country , with whom she won the state championship in Minas Gerais. In the same year she gave birth to her son Bernardo.

For the 2013 season, Tamires returned to full-time activity at AD Centro Olímpico and won the first national championship in Brazil, for which she contributed eight goals in twelve games. In the 2014 national championship she scored seven goals in ten appearances and in the 2014 national championship three goals in nine appearances.

In late 2015 Tamires moved to the Danish Fortuna Hjørring in Europe, with whom she won the Danish Cup on May 21, 2016 after a 3-1 final win over Brøndby IF . After four successful years in Denmark, each with two championship titles and cup wins, Tamires announced her new commitment to SC Corinthians in São Paulo on June 27, 2019 .

National team

Tamires has been a member of the Brazilian women's national team since 2013 , for which she made her debut on September 22, 2013 at the Valais Cup in Switzerland in a 1-0 loss to New Zealand . She scored her first international goal on her second outing against Mexico . Her greatest successes with the national team were winning the South American Championship in Ecuador in 2014 and winning the XVII women's football tournament in 2015 . Pan American Games in Canada . At the 2015 World Cup , she was eliminated with the Seleção Feminina in the round of 16. A year later she finished in the XXXI. Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro finished fourth. At the 2019 World Cup in France , Tamires played in all four games up to the Brazilians' second round of the last sixteen.

In July 2015, during a robbery in front of her parents' house in Santo André, the gold medal of the Pan American Games was stolen from her, and the CBF replaced it with a replica.
