The Big One for One Drop 2018 was the fourth edition of this poker tournament . It was played from July 15 to 17, 2018 as part of the World Series of Poker 2018 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and, with a buy-in of one million US dollars, was the most expensive poker tournament of 2018.

The No Limit Hold'em variant was the 78th and last event on the 2018 WSOP tournament schedule . It took place from July 15th to 17th, 2018. The buy-in was $ 1 million, of which $ 80,000 went to Guy Laliberté's One Drop Foundation , which advocates unconditional access to safe drinking water in crisis areas. The maximum number of players was 48 participants. In mid-June 2018, 30 players had already reserved a place, including 22 professional poker players and 8 businessmen. In the end, however, only 27 players registered, generating a prize pool of just under $ 25 million.

Each player received a starting stack of five million chips. On the first day of the tournament, 24 players registered for the event, with David Peters , Antonio Esfandiari , Isaac Haxton , Bryn Kenney and Jake Schindler, five players being eliminated on the same day. Rick Salomon led the field of the remaining 19 players with almost 11.5 million chips at the end of the day. In the first level of the second day the registration was still open; With Byron Kaverman , Rainer Kempe and Brian Rast three players took advantage of this opportunity. The day ended with six remaining players, with Justin Bonomo being the clear chip leader with a stack of almost 50 million chips.

David Einhorn was eliminated at the final table when he called the all- in with A   Q on a flop of 7   5   5 against Bonomo's 7   4 . With that the prize ranks were reached and the remaining players had a prize money of two million dollars. Only about 15 minutes later there was a big pot: Short Stack Kaverman presented A   5 all-in and got a call from Fedor wood ' 10   10 , who was sitting right behind him. Holz went into the decisive heads-up with a small tour. Bonomo took over this again when he called the all-in from Holz with 8 4 on Q 4 3 8 6 and he could only show a bluff with K J . In the final hand all the chips went into the middle before the flop and Bonomo dominated with A J Holz ' A 4 , who couldn't improve on the board. Bonomo, who had won both Super High Roller Bowls in Macau and Las Vegas , the WSOP Heads-Up Championship and prize money of almost $ 15 million in the same year before , secured the highest prize money of his poker career to date and overtook him with the grand prize of ten million dollars Erik Seidel and Daniel Negreanu in the All Time Money List , which he then topped until August 2019.
