history

2004

In 2004 SBS started broadcasting with The Voice from Finland with sister stations in Denmark, Norway and Sweden.

2006

A Bulgarian program went on air in October 2006. On December 14, 2006, the planned merger of SBS with the German ProSiebenSat.1 Media , headquartered in Munich, was announced.

2007

In the summer of 2007, ProSiebenSat.1 took over 100% of SBS, which also includes The Voice . SBS was thus completely absorbed within ProSiebenSat.1 Media .

2008

At the beginning of September 2008 it was announced that the Swedish TV broadcaster The Voice will cease broadcasting on September 30th.

2011

On November 10, 2011, ProSiebenSat.1 sold its Bulgarian stations, which also included The Voice Bulgaria, to AE Best Success Services Bulgaria EOOD.

2012

Since January 23, 2012, The Voice TV Norway can only be received via webcast, through a Norwegian IPTV service. In all other distribution channels, the new channel VOX has replaced the Norwegian television channel The Voice . On September 1, 2012, the Finnish TV channel The Voice was replaced by the channel Kutonen .

2013/14

On January 1, 2013, the Danish television broadcaster The Voice was renamed the new channel 7'eren , which ceased operations in October 2014. At the beginning of April 2013, Discovery Communications finally took over the former SBS stations, which also include The Voice , from ProSiebenSat.1 .

2015

In April 2015 Discovery Communications sold the former SBS radio stations, which also include The Voice in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, to the Bauer Media Group . In October 2015, the radio station The Voice in Norway was closed and replaced by Kiss .

Bulgaria

The Voice TV Bulgaria (mostly simply The Voice ) is a Bulgarian music broadcaster. The station was previously known under the name Wesselina TV (named after Radio Wesselina ). After the SBS Broadcasting Group bought Radio Wesselina in 2006, the name was changed to The Voice in October of that year . There is also a radio station in Bulgaria called “The Voice”. On November 10, 2011, ProSiebenSat.1 sold its Bulgarian stations, which also included The Voice Bulgaria , to AE Best Success Services Bulgaria EOOD

Germany

According to an interview in Welt am Sonntag with the then CEO of ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG Guillaume de Posch , it was checked whether a German version could also be used.

Sweden

The Voice TV was a Swedish-language music channel founded in December 2004 and broadcast from the UK . Initially, the station could only be received via the Canal Digital satellite platform, but later accessibility was expanded to include cable platforms.
