Thizay is located about 18 kilometers east-northeast of Châteauroux on the Vignole River . Thizay is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Aoustrille in the north, Issoudun in the northeast, Condé in the east and southeast, Meunet-Planches in the southeast, Brives in the south, Sainte-Fauste in the southwest and Neuvy-Pailloux in the west and southwest.
