Thomas Anzenhofer

Thomas Anzenhofer (* 1959 in Ulm ) is a German actor .

Life

Thomas Anzenhofer studied acting at the University of the Arts in West Berlin from 1980 to 1984 .

This was followed by theater engagements at the Schauspielhaus Frankfurt (1984), at the Schillertheater Berlin (1985) and at the Residenztheater Munich (1985 to 1986). From 1986 to 1995 Anzenhofer was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Schauspielhaus Bochum . From 1996 to 1998 he was a member of the Berliner Ensemble . In 2005 he returned to Theater Bochum for a guest engagement. Anzenhofer played numerous roles from classical theater literature to modern times and appeared in plays by Moliere , Gotthold Ephraim Lessing , Karl Schönherr and David Mamet , among others . In the course of his career he worked with many renowned playwrights and theater directors in the German-speaking area, including Heiner Müller , Martin Wuttke , Andrea Breth , Frank-Patrick Steckel , BK Tragelehn , Valentin Jeker and Klaus Emmerich .

During his theater engagements, Anzenhofer took on a number of film roles as early as the 1980s. In 1984 he played a small role in the film The Usher . In 1985 he appeared in The Death of the White Horse and in 1986 in Die Reise , directed by Markus Imhoof .

His career on German television began in the mid-1990s. Anzenhofer took on several continuous series roles, recurring episode roles and guest roles. He was used on German television predominantly in crime series and crime films, such as Der Alte , Siska , Ein Fall für Zwei and Tatort , where he was often committed to the role of the contradicting villain.

Became famous for Anzenhofer especially in the role of Tobias 'Dobbs' Steiger in RTL - TV show The clown . He repeated this role again in 2004 in the movie The Clown .

Anzenhofer also took on roles in musical productions and gives solo programs with recitations and chansons . At the Schauspielhaus Bochum he has played in A Tribute To Johnny Cash since the 2009/10 season and since 2012 in Well, you're my friend the role of the American country singer Johnny Cash .
