Career

Thomas Brandl began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of the EV Landshut , for which he was active in the German youth league from 2006 to 2009 . At the same time, the attacker ran in the 2008/09 season in a total of 36 games for the professional Cannibals team in the 2nd Bundesliga , for which he scored four goals and provided two assists. He was then signed by the Kölner Haien from the German Ice Hockey League . In December 2009 Brandl was given a funding license for REV Bremerhaven in order to be able to collect match practice in the 2nd Bundesliga. At the end of November 2010, his contract in Cologne was dissolved and Brandl returned to his home club in Landshut. With this he won the championship in the 2nd Bundesliga at the end of the 2011/2012 season.

For the 2013/2014 season he signed a one-year contract with the Straubing Tigers , which was extended for another year at the end of the season. In the following season ( 2014/15 ), Brandl was regularly sidelined due to injuries such as a concussion and an internal ligament tear . After a total of six years in the jersey of Niederbayern, the left shooter switched to the Ravensburg Towerstars in the DEL2 .

International

For Germany Brandl took part in the U18 Junior World Championship 2009 , in which he and his team finished tenth and thus last place and relegated to Division I. A year later he joined the German U20 team at the Division I U20 World Cup . The team achieved undefeated promotion to the top division, in which he was on the ice with the team the following year .
