Tim Murray (politician)
Timothy Patrick "Tim" Murray (born June 7, 1968 in Worcester , Massachusetts ) is an American Democratic Party politician who was lieutenant governor of Massachusetts from 2007 to 2013 .
Life
Murray graduated after attending St. John's High School in Shrewsbury studying at Fordham University in New York City , which he with a Bachelor of Arts graduated (BA). He then studied law at the Law School of Western New England College . After his admission to the bar, he practiced as a lawyer and worked as a partner in the law firm Tattan, Leonard & Murray .
Murray began his political career in local politics and was initially a member of the City Councilor of Worcester from 1997 to 2001 and then as successor to Raymond Mariano between 2002 and his replacement by Konstantina Lukes in 2007 Mayor of Worcester.
On 4 January 2007 Murray was a candidate of the Democratic Party to succeed the Republican Kerry Healey for lieutenant governor elected by Massachusetts and exercises the office of lieutenant governor from since. Murray was thus the representative of Governor Deval Patrick . On May 22, 2013, he resigned as Lieutenant Governor and assumed the role of General Manager of the Worcester Chamber of Commerce .
Murray is married to the therapist Tammy Sullivan and has two daughters with them.
