The Chadian national football team , also known as Sao , is the official football team of Chad and is subject to the Fédération Tchadienne de Football Association .
history
The association was founded in 1962. Their first international game, which they lost 6-2, played the Chad national team on April 11, 1963 against Benin in Senegal .
It was only in 1988 that the association joined FIFA and the CAF . From then on, the national team was also allowed to compete in qualifying rounds for World and African Championships. The national soccer team of the African state of Chad is one of the weakest in the world. The team has not yet managed to qualify for a soccer world championship . The team has not yet qualified for the Africa Cup .
In the first round of qualifying for the 2006 World Cup , Chad won its home game against Angola 3-1 and lost the second leg 2-0. The later qualifier Angola only progressed because of the away goals rule .
