Tyrone Sidney Nash (born September 24, 1988 in Queens , New York ) is an American basketball player .

Career

Nash went to study at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana , where he played from 2007 to 2011 for the college team Fighting Irish in the then Big East Conference of the NCAA . In his senior year of college, he averaged 9.5 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. In the summer of 2011, Nash signed a contract with the Walter Tigers Tübingen , who play in the German basketball league. There he put on 9.5 points and 5.4 rebounds in his rookie season . He decided to extend his contract for two more seasons with the Walter Tigers Tübingen. In January 2013 he took part in the slam dunk contest as part of the BBL All-Star Games . After Tübingen had been unsuccessful in the fight for a place in the play-offs for the championship for two years, they were relegated for a long time in the 2013/14 season . Only with a win on the last day of the match did they finally secure their relegation.

For the following season 2014/15 Nash left the Tübingen and, like his previous teammate Daequan Cook, moved to France to the local LNB Pro A to the first division newcomer SPO Rouen Basket from Rouen , who had received a wildcard from the association to start in the top division. In the summer of 2014, during the NBA Summer League , in which Nash should have played for the New Orleans Pelicans , a fatigue fracture was found and his contract in Rouen was suspended before the start of the season, before the contract was finally revived in January 2015 and Nash still had eleven appearances when Rouen reached the league in fourth from bottom of the table.

In the summer of 2015, Nash got more game practice in the Dominican Republic when he played for the Leones in the capital Santo Domingo . After that, Nash returned to Germany and played in the basketball Bundesliga 2015/16 for the Löwen from Braunschweig , which only slightly deteriorated by one place compared to the previous season and at the end of the season in tenth place again only narrowly made it into the play-offs missed a win.

For the following season 2016/17 Nash went to Israel for the first time, where he played for Ironi from Naharija in the national top division Ligat ha'Al . The team reached the first season of the Basketball Champions League 2016/17 after winning the qualification over the Belarusian champions Zmoki Minsk , before they only achieved sixth place in their preliminary group in the main round behind the German representative Fraport Skyliners . After this placement, the team was able to continue playing in the FIBA Europe Cup 2016/17 , where it continued in the knockout system in the round of 16. After the team had triumphed over the Turkish representative Gaziantep Basketbol , they lost in the quarterfinals to the German representative Telekom Baskets Bonn . In the Israeli championship, Nahariya scored the same number of wins in the regular season as in the previous season at 18, but this time it was only sixth place instead of fourth and the team lost their home right in the opening game of the quarter-final play-offs for the championship a. Unlike the previous season, when they had no win against Hapoel Eilat despite home rights , Naharija won the first two play-off games against Hapoel Jerusalem . Then they lost the following three games and were eliminated, while Hapoel Jerusalem also remained victorious in the Final Four tournament for the championship and won its second championship.

For the following season Nash got a contract in Turkey, where he played in Akhisar for the local club in the second highest Turkish league. After a month in the season, however, Nash left the club again, who instead reactivated the Bosnian old international Kenan Bajramović , and returned to Nahariya in Israel. However, at the end of the season in ninth place, the team missed the return to the championship play-offs due to the poorer direct comparison .

At the end of October 2018, Nash signed a contract in Lithuania after the start of the season in Europe, where he played in the LKL for the club from Prienai . But already after a month he left this team and returned to Germany, where he was introduced as a new addition in Lower Saxony at the beginning of December at the well-started first division returner SC Rasta from Vechta for an initial month.
