US Highway 46

The US Highway 46 (short US 46 ) is a United States highway in the United States . The highway begins on Interstate 80 and New Jersey State Route 94 in Columbia , New Jersey, and ends 121 kilometers in Fort Lee on Interstate 95 and US Highways 1 and 9 .

The highway is also called the United Spanish War Veterans Memorial Highway , which is intended to commemorate the Spanish-American War .

From the intersection with I-80 and NJ 94, US 46 runs south parallel to the Delaware River . After the city Belvidere was passed, it leads to the east and strikes in White Township to the New Jersey State Route 31 and in Hackettstown to the New Jersey State Route 182 . In the urban area of Netcong, the highway crosses Interstate 80 twice and US Highway 206 in the city center . He now runs parallel to I-80 and meets in Roxbury Township on the New Jersey State Route 10 and in Dover on State Route 15 .

In the north of Parsippany-Troy Hills , US Highway 46 meets Interstate 287 and US Highway 202 . In Wayne , the highway is crossed by New Jersey State Route 23 and in Clifton by the tolled Garden State Parkway . State Route 3 also branches off in the center of Clifton . The road then runs through the towns of Garfield , Lodi and Hasbrouck Heights and after a cross with New Jersey State Route 17 in the south , it passes Teterboro Airport .

After crossing the Hackensack River US 46 meets east of Ridgefield Park on Interstate 95 and the New Jersey Turnpike . From Palisades Park , the highway uses the same route as US Highways 1 and 9. In Fort Lee, the road meets I-95 again and, together with the interstate, runs over the George Washington Bridge over the Hudson River . US Highway 46 officially ends at the New York State border.
