The USS Kidd (DDG-100) is a destroyer in the United States Navy and belongs to the Arleigh Burke class . It is named after Admiral Isaac C. Kidd .

The Kidd was commissioned in 1998. In April 2004 the ship was laid down at Ingalls Shipbuilding and launched on January 22, 2005. The destroyer's godparents were Admiral Kidd's granddaughters Regina Kidd Wolbarsht and Mary Corrinne Kidd Plumer. This was followed by the final equipment of the ship at the pier.

In August of that year, Hurricane Katrina swept the Gulf coasts and the Ingalls shipyards. The Kidd was so badly damaged that the ship had to be towed back to the dry dock. The subsequent repairs delayed commissioning considerably. It was not until June 9, 2007 that the destroyer was ceremoniously commissioned in the port of Galveston , Texas, after the official commissioning had already taken place on May 30, 2007.

For the first time, the Kidd relocated to the West Pacific with the USS John C. Stennis (CVN-74) in 2009, then to the Indian Ocean from the end of 2011 and to the Pacific region from the beginning of 2012.

In March 2014, she was involved in the search for the missing flight MH370 .

In 2020 she was involved in the fight against illicit drug trafficking in the Caribbean and the East Pacific.
