society

Bapoh, who came to Germany from Cameroon with his mother and brother at the age of three, began playing football at Blau-Weiß Grümerbaum in the north of Bochum . As a 10-year-old he was accepted into the VfL Bochum 's “Talentwerk” junior performance center and from then on trained in football. The A-youth, with whom he reached the round of 16 of the 2016/17 junior club cup, Bapoh temporarily led as captain.

At the beginning of 2017, Bapoh received a professional contract valid until June 2020 due to his achievements and was awarded the club's Werner Altegoer Medal . From January 2018, the offensive player was sporadically in the first team's squad under the then head coach Gertjan Verbeek , but was not used in the 2nd Bundesliga , but only in friendly matches. In order to gain match practice, he spent the 2018/19 season on loan in the second Dutch division with Eredivisie relegated FC Twente Enschede . The German was able to contribute three goals in ten games to get promoted as champions at the end of the season.

After his return, Bapoh played for VfL for the first time both in the league and in the first cup game after substitutions. There followed three more second division games in which he was able to score and prepare a goal. In October 2019, the midfielder tore a cruciate ligament and was out for the rest of the season, in which he was able to keep the class with VfL. His contract, which expired at the end of the season, was not extended.

Bapoh played six times for German junior national teams under coach Meikel Schönweitz .
