Junkers G-24 Unión Aérea Española

Unión Aérea Española SA (UAE for short) was a Spanish airline based in Madrid . UAE was founded in 1925 with a majority share in the German Junkers Flugzeugwerke . Starting in 1926, regular traffic was operated with Junkers G 24 machines between Madrid Airport Getafe and Tablada , Seville , Tangier and Lisbon .

In January 1929, the UAE capital, machines and equipment was transferred as start-up capital to the newly founded airline Concesionaria de Líneas Aéreas Subvencionadas SA (CLASSA). The new company resumed operations on May 27, 1929 with the Madrid - Seville route. From June 20, 1929 Madrid - Barcelona , September 30, 1929 followed Seville - Larache - Madrid - Paris - Biarritz . At the beginning of 1931 a freight and air mail line was established Líneas Aeropostales Españolas (LAPE) which operated flights to the Canary Islands Las Palmas , Casablanca and Agadir . Shortly before the Spanish Civil War, the airline had a fleet of 18 aircraft. The basis of this fleet were the Junkers G 24 (9 passenger seats) , the De Havilland DH.89 Dragon Rapide (8 seats) and the Fokker F.VIIa (15 seats).

As a result of the Spanish Civil War, the company was closed in 1939. Iberia took over some of the machines and flight routes.
