Wamos Air (originally Air Pullmantur then Pullmantur Air from 2006 to December 2014 ) is a Spanish charter airline based in Madrid and based at Madrid-Barajas Airport . It is a subsidiary of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.
history
The company was founded in 2003 as Air Pullmantur and began flight operations in June 2003 with Boeing 747-200s .
The airline belonged to the Spanish Grupo Marsans until summer 2006 and was then taken over by Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. accepted. At the same time, the company was named Pullmantur Air .
After the European air traffic was largely suspended for a few days after the eruption of Eyjafjallajökull in April 2010 and then resumed, the German tourism group TUI used one of the 747-400s to fly a large number of holidaymakers from Tenerife to Salzburg .
On December 17, 2014, Pullmantur Air was renamed Wamos Air and received a new corporate design .
In May 2015 it was announced that Wamos Air and Lufthansa Technik would extend the contract for the repairs and overhauls of the aircraft. The two companies have been cooperating with each other since 2003.
Destinations
Wamos Air mainly offers charter flights to destinations in the Caribbean , such as Cancun . In addition, feeder flights for passengers on the cruises of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. carried out. These feeder flights take place to Rostock-Laage Airport .
