LTE International Airways SA (temporarily LTE-Volar ) was a Spanish charter airline based in Palma .
history
LTE was founded on April 27, 1987 at the suggestion of the Spanish government. Co-founder was LTU , which was the largest German charter airline at the time. From 1993 to May 2001 this was also the sole owner after the other shareholders were paid out.
On May 24, 2001, LTU sold the airline to a group of Italian and Spanish business people and the Volare Group. The airline was renamed LTE-Volar at that time . In 2005, however, the company was given back its previous name LTE International Airways. The Boeing 757-200 flying for LTE at that time were retired.
Due to acute liquidity bottlenecks, LTE ceased operations on October 17, 2008.
