Cygnus Air (temporarily Gestair Cargo ) is a Spanish cargo airline based in Madrid and based at Madrid-Barajas Airport .
history
Cygnus Air was founded in 1994 by Regional Airlines from France and Gestair Private Aviation from Spain, the regional airline Regional Lineas Aéreas . After the company had carried out passenger flights with a Saab 340 until January 1998 , it suspended flight operations. In November 1998 it resumed flight operations as a pure cargo airline under the name Cygnus Air. Two Douglas DC-8-62F were used for this .
In 2013 the airline , which had since been renamed Gestair Cargo , was sold to the American company founder and former owner of the Dutch Antilles Express , Arnold Leonora. As a result, the appearance changed back to that of Cygnus Air in June 2013.
