Untermichelbach (colloquially: "Michlbach") is a district of the municipality of Obermichelbach in the central Franconian district of Fürth .

geography

The village is located in Rangau between the cities of Fürth , Herzogenaurach and Erlangen , about a kilometer east of Obermichelbach and is surrounded by arable land and grassland with a few trees. In the north the field is called Birkenweiherfeld, in the south Weiherfeld and in the east Kaltes Loh, Vogelherd and Erlesfeld. Immediately south of the village, the Michelbach , which is a left tributary of the Regnitz , flows.

The district road FÜ 17 / FÜs 3 leads to Obermichelbach (1.2 km southwest) or to state road 2263 (1.6 km east). A community road leads to Obermichelbach to the district road FÜ 21 (1.1 km to the west).

history

In 1337 the parish of Herzogenaurach transferred 22 places to the Heilig-Geist-Spital Nuremberg, including Obermichelbach, Untermichelbach and Rothenberg . In 1399 Untermichelbach was named as “Nydernmychelbach” in a document about the realms of Jobst Tetzel and Hanns Tetzel from Nuremberg. In the Salbuch of the Cadolzburg office in 1464 "Obermichelbach", "Nydernmichelbach" and "Rotperg" were named. The place name is derived from a water body name, the meaning of which is large brook .

A high altar was consecrated in the new chapel in Untermichelbach in 1505 , and the chapel was destroyed in the Thirty Years' War .

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 12 properties and a community shepherd's house in Untermichelbach. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach city bailiff Langenzenn . Landlords were the bishopric of Bamberg : Amt Herzogenaurach (2 courtyards, 1 Schenkstatt), Dompropsteiamt Büchenbach (2 half courtyards ), Dompropsteiamt Fürth (2 half courtyards ) and Nuremberg owners: von Haller (1 estate), von Tucher (1 half yard, 1 estate), by Zeltner (1 half yard). The village and community rulership was taken over by the landlords in rotation.

In 1792, the town and the Principality of Ansbach became part of Prussia and in 1806 it was incorporated into the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the community edict, Untermichelbach was assigned to the Obermichelbach tax district formed in 1808 . It belonged to the rural community of Obermichelbach formed in the same year .

In 1943 there were air raids on Ober- and Untermichelbach. On April 17, 1945, the Second World War ends with the occupation by the troops of the United States Army .

religion

The place has been predominantly Protestant since the Reformation. The residents of the Evangelical Lutheran denomination are parish according to the Holy Spirit (Obermichelbach) , the residents of the Roman Catholic denomination are parish according to the Holy Spirit (Veitsbronn) .

traffic

In 1967 the Deutsche Bundesbahn introduced the rail bus route from Fürth via Obermichelbach and Tuchenbach to Herzogenaurach, on which a connection from Erlangen via Herzogenaurach to Fürth will run in winter 2007. As part of a reorganization of bus traffic in the northern district, line 126 of the OVF has been connecting Fürth with Tuchenbach via Obermichelbach and Veitsbronn since the timetable change in winter 2007 .

In the evenings and on weekends there is a collective taxi to the train station in Siegelsdorf .
