coat of arms

Coat of arms of the Verbandsgemeinde Dierdorf
Blazon : “Green bordered and split; in front two red posts with blue upper corner in silver; in the back two black bars in silver. "

The coat of arms has been legally valid since July 27, 1961, designed by Joseph Decku.

Justification of the coat of arms: The coat of arms of Wied-Runkel - Pfähle and Obereck indicates the earlier affiliation of the northern union area with Dierdorf to the upper county of Wied (Wied-Runkel) from the 14th century to 1806. The Isenburg bar coat of arms refers to the earlier affiliation of the southern union area with Isenburg and Maischeid to the county of Nieder-Isenburg until 1664. The green border is intended to symbolize the forest and meadow landscape of the association community.

Local partnership

The Dierdorf Association has maintained a municipal partnership with the city of Krotoszyn ( Poland ) since 1997 . The close relationship that has existed for many years between the Martin-Butzer-Gymnasium, Dierdorf, and the Lyceum, Krotoszyn, served as the impetus for this partnership.

traffic

The association is part of the Rhein-Mosel transport association . It is served by several bus routes on weekdays; the most important are line 103 to Neuwied (Alteck-Express) and line 104 to Puderbach .

Dierdorf lies on the Unterwesterwaldbahn , which is only used for freight traffic on this section; the Dierdorf train station (Bz Koblenz) is no longer served. Only from Siershahn , 13 km south-east area of Dierdorf, nor regional trains to Montabaur ( ICE - Station ) and Limburg an der Lahn . Other passenger stations in the area are Hachenburg on the Oberwesterwaldbahn (19 kilometers northeast) and Engers on the right Rhine route (21 kilometers southwest).

The high-speed route Cologne – Rhine / Main runs through the area of the Verbandsgemeinde from northwest to southeast , but the trains do not stop there. The federal motorway 3 runs parallel to it with the Dierdorf junction . The federal highway 413 runs from northeast to southwest through Marienhausen, Dierdorf, Kleinmaischeid and Isenburg.
