The Verbandsgemeinde Lauterecken was an administrative unit in the legal form of a regional body in the district of Kusel in Rhineland-Palatinate . The municipality of Lauterecken belonged to the town of Lauterecken as well as 25 independent local parishes , the administrative seat was in the eponymous town of Lauterecken.
The Verbandsgemeinde Lauterecken was dissolved on July 1, 2014, the associated municipalities were assigned to the new Verbandsgemeinde Lauterecken-Wolfstein together with the communities of the former Verbandsgemeinde Wolfstein .
