Wilhelm Schupp (politician)

Wilhelm Karl August Schupp (born January 8, 1828 in Obergimpern ; † July 30, 1909 in Karlsruhe ) was a German administrative and ministerial official and parliamentarian.

Life

Wilhelm Schupp, son of Johann Schupp, the rent clerk, attended the Lyceum in Heidelberg . Subsequently, he studied from 1846 to 1850 law at the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg . In 1848 he became a member of the Corps Suevia Heidelberg . During his studies he did his military service in 1849. In 1851 he became a legal intern and in 1854 a trainee lawyer. This was followed by positions as an assistant at the Stühlingen district office, the Freiburg court court, the Säckingen district court, the Emmendingen district office and, most recently, the Kenzingen district office. In 1860 he was appointed magistrate at the local court in Villingen. In 1862 he changed to the district office of Neckarbischofsheim as a bailiff and board member . In 1864 he came to the Wolfach district office as a member of the administrative board , where he was promoted to senior official in 1865 . In 1869 he became the head of the district office in Lörrach . In 1872, as Ministerialrat, he became head of the Agriculture Department in the Baden Ministry of Commerce. In 1874 he became head of the railway department and the operations department of the general management of the Baden State Railways, whose operations director he became in 1876. In 1888 he was appointed to the Privy Council 3rd class and in 1896 2nd class. In 1898 he was retired.

From 1867 to 1870, as a member of the National Liberal Party, Schupp was a member of the constituency 33 (Sinsheim and places of the Eppingen office) to the Second Chamber of the Baden Estates Assembly . In 1870 he became chamber secretary and in 1872 chairman of the ministerial commission for field clearing.
