The Yellow Cup is a handball competition of the Yellow Winterthur , which has been held annually since 1972.

history

The cup was launched and organized for the ten-year existence of the eponymous handball club by its president Peter Lattmann , who was also responsible for the implementation of the tournament through his resignation as club president in 2007. After the first events took place in autumn, the 1976 Cup was moved to the break between Christmas and New Year. In this game-free season, the competition gained in importance and became an important factor in the club's finances for Yellow Winterthur.

In 1997 the tournament was transformed from a club tournament to a tournament for national teams.
