Cetuń (German Zetthun ) is a village near Polanów (Pollnow) in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in northwestern Poland .

Geographical location

Cetuń is located in Western Pomerania , about eight kilometers west of the small town Polanów and 28 kilometers southeast of the regional metropolis Koszalin ( Köslin ).

history

The small village of Cetuń originally emerged from a manor that was an old fiefdom of the von Glasenapp family. Joachim von Glasenapp bequeathed it to his son of the same name. The latter bequeathed the estate to his only son, Friedrich Ewald von Glasenapp (* around 1732), who still lived there in 1804. Around 1780 there was the Vorwerk Karlshof in Zetthun , five farmers, one half- farmer and two cottages in a total of 16 households. In 1833 the feudal right for the property was revoked. It was sold and then changed hands several times. Around 1860 there were a total of 27 residential buildings, two school houses and 24 farm buildings in Zetthun including the manor house, and the village had a total of 271 inhabitants in 51 households. In 1862 the then 4,689 acre estate was given to Rosalie Beate Pagel, b. Priem , a merchant woman from Szczecin , sold.

Until 1945 Zetthun belonged to the district of Köslin in the Prussian province of Pomerania .

Towards the end of the Second World War , the region was occupied by the Red Army in the spring of 1945 and then placed under Polish administration together with all of Western Pomerania. The German village of Zetthun was given the Polish name of Cetuń .
