This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Angelo De La Paz (talk | contribs) at 09:22, 13 October 2007 (→‎By country). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

This is the collection from artciles and sources of List of religious populations, Christianity by country, Islam by country, Buddhism by country, Hinduism by country,etc...with some latest current reports, artciles of US Department of State's International Religious Freedom Report 2007 and Background Notes Archive with national profiles from The World Factbook of CIA and many other different sources.

This article includes major religions only.Others could include smaller popular religions as Judaism, Baha'i, Sikhism, Zoroastrianism,etc...

Note that for Abrahamic religions such as Christianity, Islam and Judaism will show dual figures those are the percentage of people who believe in God and percentage of secular/nominal adherent.Examples: Christians in the whole Europe,North America or Muslims in Turkey and Balkans. But secular Jews are not included because they believe in God but are living as modern, secular people.

But the percentage of Buddhists are also show common numbers (as secular/nominal Buddhists) with some Eastern religions such as Taoism, Confucianism, Shinto with Chinese folk religion, Animism and even Ancestor Worship (one of traditional faiths in East Asia and influenced by Cofucianism);Mahayana Buddhism is the more popular than others.Another one is the percentage of people who have taken the Refuge (registered Buddhists) .Read more in article of Buddhism by country. And remember one thing,Buddhism is very special because it's an atheistic religion originally and Buddhism has harmonized with many different national culture as the traditional faith in some Asian countries.

And in some cases,in one column could contain more figures.
