The Ә (lowercase letter ә ), also called (Cyrillic) Schwa , is a letter of the Cyrillic alphabet that is used in many languages. The sound value is æ in Bashkir, Kazakh and Tatar , in Dungan ɤ , in Kalmyk and Kurdish ə and in Abkhazian ʷ . In the Abkhazian language, letter combinations with ә count as separate letters and have their own positions in the alphabet.
