The Ө, ө [ œ ] is a letter of the Cyrillic alphabet . In the languages that use it, it stands for the rounded, half-open front tongue vowel , with the pronunciation lying roughly between an 'o' and an open 'ö' , similar to, for example, in the word 'hell' or 'grains' .

This letter is used in the following seven languages: the Turkic languages Bashkir , Kazakh , Kyrgyz and Yakut as well as the Mongolian languages Mongolian , Buryat and Kalmuck . In Kazakh, the letter also corresponds to the sequence of sounds [ wʉ ].
