The Pe ( П and п ) is a letter of the Cyrillic alphabet , it is in 17th position in the Russian alphabet. The letter is derived from the Greek Π ( pi ). The Pe is pronounced like the letter P in the Latin alphabet . In handwriting, the lower case п is written like a Latin lower case n. In Serbian and Macedonian , the small п looks like a ū in italics .

There is also a letter in the Cyrillic alphabet that is written like the Latin P , the Р (spoken: Er) . However, this letter corresponds to the Latin R .
